AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trader Joe's To Open On St. Pat's Day

According to today's NYPost, Trader Joe's in Union Square is set to open on March 17th. The paper is all about TJ's today, giving you 1,500 words of love spread across two articles that provide some truly great quotes.

Software designer David Galbraith pronounces himself "stoked." East Village resident Brooke Nipar has been talking about it for months. And artist E.V. Day says she's "so excited I'm frothing at the mouth." The event that has them in such a dither: the opening of a gourmet food store on 14th Street near Union Square. In a city already awash in enough extra-virgin Tuscan olive oil and organic fingerling potatoes to keep an army of foodies in rations until the next millennium, that might seem an odd cause for jubilation. But this isn't just any gourmet food store - it's the city's first outpost of Trader Joe's, set to open March 17 at 142 E. 14th St., near Third Avenue.

Just in case you are still confused by the hysteria surrounding the opening of what is in essence just another grocery store, this quote may help clear things up, "It's unique among retail food stores. It's kind of like the Grateful Dead of supermarkets." There you have it.

My olde country videos

I have 2 videos up on Google, one of Emmy Lou Harris and one of Loretta Lynn.
Pretty low quality, given I made them on my Cannon digital snap shot camera.

The Union Forever!

All the lyrics from 'The Union Forever' off of the White Stripe's 3rd record 'White Blood Cells' come from Citizen Kane.

Someone's done a mash up of sorts and sync'd video footage from Citizen Kane with the song.

Pretty cool.

Antonio

G
UZE
MAN

One of my work bros is moving to SF with his lady. He'll be missed. This pic was from a summer feature at work, and he still gets to hear about it. Heh.

I Want to be Adored

So when you don't have much to say, you just post pictures you ripped off the inna-nets.
#1

#2

I was flipping through the NME's 100 greatest albums ever. I guess these are the most 'British' sounding records. #5 is the new Arctic Monkeys. That record just came out 2 weeks ago, and I still don't 'get it.' WTF?

#1 is the s/t by Stones Roses circa 1989. I wondered why I didn't know this record backwards and forwards, so I picked it up on the work servers to see if I could dig it. So far, so good, but #1?

It just opens my eyes to American's view on British music. Loveless by MBV didn't even make the list. Uh, what? And the Smiths do about as good as the Stones and the Beatles, but the Smiths were HUGE over there. Like played on the radio and shit.

No, I wanted to get this tat!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well jeez, someone beat me to it. Guess I'll just get the the drum part, or the kid with his hand in the air part, but not the whole thing, nor the 'extra' embellishments, or nothing at all. Uh, there are no colored stars on the album cover.

Yeah, if I were to do this, I would do it so much better.
